Practical Approach to the Next Web (100 word version)

The future of the web is pulling meaning (semantics) from the vast information on the internet. There are three ways to implement semantics. 1) revise each page, 2) build a separate set of pages (APIs) that are machine readable, or 3) build a set of page scrapers to pull off the valuable information that's out there now.

Reminds me of encyclopedias eight years ago. And the ultimate winner was the ugly, fragile method of user contribution. The Amy Iris project is our attempt at a free-forever, open source, contributory framework for pulling information out of the vast data of the internet.
